Kayla first reached out to me through my original website, and from the very start, she was such a sweetheart. We officially got everything booked with her including her coordinator, Maddi (who you can actually find featured on my Vendor Suggestion Page
—she’s wonderful!).
For their engagement session, we met at a beautiful farm in Carrollton, Georgia—a place that felt straight out of a country dream. The best part? It actually belongs to Adam. The moment I pulled up, I was greeted by the sweetest little farm scene—an old farmhouse full of charm, chickens roaming freely, and a few adorable kittens exploring the yard. It was the perfect setting for such a genuine, down-to-earth couple.
When I met them in person, both Adam and Kayla were instantly so kind and easy to talk to. Kayla is soft-spoken and incredibly sweet, while Adam has this relaxed confidence about him. After chatting for a bit, they hopped into their car, I followed behind, and we ventured out into the wide-open fields of their property.
The first spot we found was magical—tall trees, soft light, and the golden sun peeking through just perfectly. I let them take the lead since it was their land, and honestly, I love when couples do that. When people guide me through spaces that mean something to them, the photos always end up feeling more personal and natural.
Adam was surprisingly the one steering the session—literally and figuratively! He guided us through fields and trails, and at one point, I laughed and said I felt like we were going off-roading. But it was so worth it. We found a quiet, wooded area where they sat together among the trees, and it felt like time slowed down for a bit.
To wrap up the session, Adam grabbed his guitar, and he and Kayla sat together on some old tree stumps as the light faded. He started playing for her, and the way she looked at him—it was so raw and beautiful. It wasn’t posed or staged; it was just them. The sound of the guitar, the golden light, and the love between them created one of my favorite moments I’ve ever photographed.
After the session, we lingered a bit and talked. I learned more about their story and got to connect with Kayla about her work as a special needs teacher. We even bonded over having children the same age—my son is autistic, so we had a heartfelt conversation about our experiences with that and the school system. It was one of those unexpected, genuine connections that makes my job so meaningful.
This session will forever be one of my favorites. Adam and Kayla are truly two of the kindest souls, and capturing their love was such a joy. I can’t wait for you to read about their wedding day, which was just as beautiful and full of life!
