If you’ve been following along, you might remember Adam and Kayla from their engagement session, which you can read about in my previous blog post titled Adam and Kayla’s Engagement Session. From the moment I met them, I knew their wedding day would be something special—and it absolutely was.
Adam and Kayla chose to hold their ceremony at Alice Park, a small but stunning park tucked right in downtown Carrollton, Georgia. It’s open to the public but can be rented for private events, and honestly—it’s such a hidden gem. The space is filled with lush greenery and has that perfect elegant outdoor feel while still being intimate and affordable.
The morning began at Adam’s beautiful farmhouse property, which I had already fallen in love with during their engagement session. When you picture the perfect southern farmhouse—this is it. Open land, chickens running around, a cozy home, and the kind of peaceful quiet you can’t fake. That’s where Kayla was getting ready, surrounded by her bridesmaids, family, and her two adorable children.
While everyone got ready, I started the morning with some detail shots—her boots, special jewelry pieces, and other little touches that told her story. Meanwhile, her kids were cracking me up, taking turns posing with guitars and the piano, begging me to take their picture. They reminded me so much of my own kids—it made the morning feel extra personal.
Once everyone was dressed, Kayla shared a sweet moment with her mom, followed by an emotional first look with her dad outside on the property. There’s just something about a dad seeing his daughter in her wedding dress that gets me every time.
Now, a fun backstory—when Kayla first booked me, she mentioned needing help finding a coordinator. I told her about Maddi, who works closely with me on weddings, and she ended up being the perfect fit! Maddi arrived early at Alice Park to meet with the florists and make sure everything was running smoothly. She texted me updates while I was still with Kayla, including one funny moment where a young boy had shown up at the park to ask someone to be his girlfriend—and Maddi let him set up his little romantic corner while she waited.
Once I arrived at the park, everything was coming together beautifully. We went over the layout, timeline, and plan for the ceremony. Since this was a smaller wedding, everything felt laid-back and intimate. There was a bit of confusion at first—figuring out who was officiating, who was handling music, and how to hide Kayla so Adam wouldn’t see her—but it all worked out perfectly. Hiding a bride outdoors is no easy task, but somehow, we pulled it off!
Kayla’s walk down the aisle was absolutely stunning. Watching Adam’s face light up when he saw her was such a sweet, genuine moment. The ceremony itself was short and simple, but full of emotion.
Afterward, we moved right into family and group portraits, and everything ran ahead of schedule (which never happens at weddings!). With extra time to spare, I got to chat with guests and capture candid moments before heading to the reception.
The reception took place at City Tavern, just a short walk away from the park. They had a private room reserved, and although guests couldn’t enter until 5 PM, City Tavern was incredibly accommodating. Maddi and I arrived early, coordinated with the staff, and even helped direct guests from the main restaurant into the private room once everything was ready.
As the evening went on, the room filled with laughter, music, and the sweetest energy. Adam’s stepdad was one of the first to arrive, and we had such a lovely conversation about family and life—it really set the tone for how warm and genuine this group was. Later, I met one of their family friends who’s also into photography and videography; he even shared some great tips and captured some clips for them on his phone!
Something I didn’t know until that night—Adam and Kayla live a gluten-free lifestyle! City Tavern actually served gluten-free options for their dinner, which was so thoughtful, and even their wedding cake was gluten-free (and delicious, by the way!). I told Kayla it was the best gluten-free cake I’ve ever had—and it was made by one of her friends!
Throughout the night, there was live music, laughter, and dancing. Adam, who has such a deep love for music, was totally in his element. Watching him sing and play guitar while Kayla looked on with so much love was one of my favorite parts of the night. Their chemistry is undeniable. He tells her she’s beautiful constantly, and you can truly feel how much they adore each other.
Toward the end of the evening, guests were having a blast, singing along to some of the funniest (and most unexpected) songs. Maddi and I couldn’t stop laughing—especially when a certain “food stamps” song came on that had everyone cracking up. It was one of those unfiltered, real-life moments that made the night unforgettable.
Before leaving, I helped pack up some of the decorations and boxed up the cake for them—just to make sure everything was taken care of so they could focus on enjoying their night. As we got ready to go, Adam and his son started playing guitar together, and it was the perfect way to end such a heartfelt, joy-filled day.
Every wedding I capture teaches me something new—but this one especially reminded me of what truly matters. It’s not the size of the venue or the number of guests—it’s the love, the laughter, and the connection between two people starting their forever together.
